A glass cutter is used to score the glass – introducing a fault in the glass, making it easy to break the glass along its length. The blue tool is used to assist in breaking the glass along this line.

I recently read, only 4 of these are known to exist, as originals. If one of them would appear on auction it would not be for less than 300.000 $ , so if you got the right glass and some time in spare, along with a few tools and a bit of experience, it´s always worth trying to make one on your own. Let me warn you though. It takes veeery , veeery long
